At voco Stockholm - Kista Hotel, sustainability is built into how we operate.
We are committed to supporting our local community and sharing practical ways that small actions can add up to meaningful change.
We aim to reduce our environmental impact while providing a comfortable stay for our guests and a supportive workplace for our team. By staying with us, you contribute directly to these efforts. We welcome your suggestions on how we can continue to improve.
Some of our environmental practices
- We work to reduce waste in our daily operations, for example by avoiding unnecessary waste.
- The building is BREEAM-certified, meaning it meets recognised environmental and sustainability standards.
- All our daily cleaning chemicals are eco-labelled. Milder, eco-friendly cleaning products are used to benefit both the environment and our guests health.
- Food is sourced, prepared and served with consideration for its environmental impact.
- We use LED bulbs, electricity from 100% renewable sources and have
energy saving routines. - We choose our suppliers carefully and expect them to respect human rights and ethical standards. We prioritise local suppliers, supporting the community while reducing the impact of long supply chains.
Our commitment towards a greener future
- We work continuously to reduce energy and water consumption across the hotel.
- We select eco-labelled products wherever available.
- Paper use has been reduced through a shift toward digital alternatives.
- Waste sorting practices have been improved to support more effective recycling.
Equality, inclusion and respect
- We are covered by a Swedish collective agreement that supports fair working conditions but also a respectful, supportive and inclusive workplace.
- All colleagues are treated equally and respectfully, regardless of background or difference. We view our diverse team as a strength, bringing varied perspectives to how we work.
- We take a firm stance against violence, bullying, harassment and discrimination.
How you can support our Green Key commitment during your stay
Small choices during your stay make a big difference. Here is how you can help:
- Use energy thoughtfully. Turn off lights and the television when leaving your room. This can easily be done by removing your room key from the key card holder.
- Moderate room temperature. Avoid overusing heating or air cooling.
- Skip daily housekeeping if not needed. Rooms are cleaned upon request, let us know if you would like more frequent service. Members can earn points as a reward for choosing this option.
- Sort your waste. Separating your waste according to the instructions on our TV will make a big impact on the environment.
- Take the stairs. Saving energy while benefiting your health.
- Reuse your towels. Leave only the towels you'd like washed on the floor.
- Save water. Turning off the tap while brushing your teeth.
- Minimise food waste. Take only what you plan to eat at breakfast and go back if you like to enjoy some more.
- Report any concerns. If you witness behaviour that is unkind or disrespectful toward our staff or any other guests, please let us know.
- Use the reusable glass water bottle. Drink our tap water. It’s safe to drink, delicious and free of charge. There is a refillable glass bottle provided in all rooms.
- Travel thoughtfully. Where possible you can explore the city on foot, by cycling or by public transport.
Thank you for supporting a more responsible and sustainable way to travel.
